Apple picking season began mid-September and will go on for the whole month of October. Apple picking is always great; as an activity for lovers, with the family or in my case with my friend, our photographer Matt. Apple pie and breakfast muffins will definitely be present in my lunch box in the next few days.
As the expression goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but why is that? Apples are filled with antioxidants that help reduce the risks of cancer, hypertension, diabetes and even heart disease, in addition to preventing wrinkles, hihi ;). They are also filled with fiber, flavonoids and other powerful nutrients.
Numerous studies have been made on the beneficial properties of the regular consumption of apples as a help to strengthen the immune system of individuals and thus to eradicate certain diseases. Of course, the results of these studies vary according to the profile of people present during the study. Consumption of apples:

  1. Improves mental health and prevents dementia by increasing the production of certain neurotransmitters, thereby enhancing memory capacity, helping prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
  2. Reduce risk of diabetes: The fruit might reduce insulin resistance which leads to lower blood sugar. This is because the polyphenols in apples, which are found primarily in the apple’s skin, stimulate your pancreas to release insulin and help your cells take in sugar.
  3. Reduce bad cholesterol; especially for women. Many studies suggest that polyphenols and antioxidant in this fruit may help inhibit the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein that leads to plaque buildup in arteries.

Not bad for a simple end-of-day snack. Coming back to this apple picking look, being a fan of bows, which is no longer a secret for anyone, I completely fell for this sweater. Super comfy and perfect with a pair of jeans on the weekend or for a casual Friday at the office, it will keep you warm all fall season and all winter long.

As for this black skirt from Club Monaco, what more to say, it is a classic that reinvents itself every season! I completed the look with a pair of classic boots that show a touch of originality. These Karl Lagerfeld boots are available at the Bay.
